The new Infectious Diseases Research Consortium gets underway tomorrow with a kickoff meeting of the investigators and teams at the NIH. The Consortium includes two recently-awarded Seattle-based Vaccine and Treatment Evaluation Units based at UW and Kaiser Permanente. The Seattle Malaria Clinical Trials Center and our laboratory have conducted trials with both Seattle VTEUs. We are looking forward to testing promising new candidate malaria vaccines with the Consortium in the coming years.
